Lying in the heart of the Cradle of Humankind you will find Boavida Gundogs and Wingshooting. We have a world-class dog training facility situated away from the urban hustle and bustle. The experienced team of trainers and hunters is lead by Matthew Berry. Offering world-class training, boarding facilities, as well as hunting safaris, we welcome you to Boavida.

It is from our base in Gauteng that we offer our gundog training. We strictly stick to modern, predominantly positive training techniques. By studying the latest advancements in understanding dogs and dog training, at Boavida we see ourselves at the forefront of understanding how dogs think. Armed with this knowledge, we help you and your dog become the best possible team, focussed on a positive relationship at all times.

Our boarding kennels are conveniently located close to both Johannesburg and Pretoria. Our boarding kennels feature large open spaces, including garden runs for 45 of them. At Boavida your dog will have more than just a place to stay. Your dog will be under the constant watchful eye of our experienced staff as well as our dog trainers, and will receive daily walks, as well as time in the communal areas with dogs that they get along with well.

We believe in constant education and improvement, and from time to time we will run focussed seminars and events with guest lecturers, or focussed on very specific topics. Previous seminars and planned upcoming ones include: JGHV Judges and German Testing, disciplined retrieve, blood tracking, snake proofing, and more. Be sure to book your spot as many are limited.

We run very specialised, small group wingshooting safaris. We have a limited number of shoots each year to ensure that our areas are hunted in a sustainable manner where the bird populations constantly improve. Our shoots include: rough shooting in the bushveld, specialised grey-winged francolin wingshoots (very limited), as well as training shoots for our dog training clients.
